It's the worst "Taiwanese food" I've ever tasted in NYC... even worse than 886 so you know how bad it was lol The beef noodle soup tasted very very sour, to a degree that we weren't sure if it's gone bad and a bit undrinkable (we don't think it was but just to describe how sour it was). 黑白切 was way too salty; the whole point of 黑白切 is they shouldn't be very super salty because you dip them into sauce. Even the pork chop was a bit sour?? Pork shop was not supposed to be sour at all! You could argue that the beef noodle soup was a bit sour because of the pickles added in soup but... pork chop??? why?? Even the rice was bad. It was very unevenly cooked; some parts very sticky and some parts too dry. I'd rather have long grain rice if it was too hard to cook short grain rice... come on... Also the wait time was crazy long, we waited for about 45 min for the first dish to show up. The waiter does not speak English at all and when a customer asked him questions he was totally clueless (which was not super surprising in Bayside I guess). We stopped in for lunch on Saturday. The restaurant is quite small, but thankfully the air-conditioning was on full blast, which was much appreciated on such a hot day, especially with a bowl of beef noodle soup. Whenever I come across Taiwanese beef noodle soup, I usually have to try it. Overall, it was pretty good, the broth was tasty and the meat was tender. They offer both beef and beef tendon noodle soup, which I always appreciate since not every place does. However, when my mother requested just beef tendon due to dental issues, we were told it couldn’t be accommodated because the meat is pre-portioned. That was a bit surprising for such a small establishment, as I would have assumed it was ladled from a larger pot like many similar places. I ended up ordering the same bowl and giving my mom all the tendon while I kept the meat although I’ll admit I would have preferred to keep the tendon for myself. My cousin ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, which she really enjoyed. I tried a taste as well, but it wasn’t really my preference. The spice had more of a Sichuan-style profile, leaning toward that mala flavor that I don’t personally enjoy. Aside from that, the soup was enjoyab

Ordered takeout while hanging out at a friend’s place nearby, so we picked it up ourselves and got it right after it was ready. The braised pork rice box was quite good, with a variety of side dishes that were well seasoned. The portions are also generous, especially the rice box and the chicken cutlet. The cutlet is almost the size of two faces. That said, the fried items were not really to my taste. Both the fried pork ribs and the chicken cutlet had a thick batter that felt quite hard and powdery. The sausage also tasted like the kind you would buy at a supermarket, nothing particularly special. Overall it was filling, but not something I would feel eager to order again

This place is amazing! I ordered 3 bentos for lunch and it was so good and very authentic Taiwanese food. The staff at the front counter was super friendly and thoughtful, which really stood out. Having their own parking lot is a big bonus and makes it so convenient. In my opinion, this is the best Taiwanese food you can find in New York. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Seems like they've simplified their menu and focused on lunch bento, noodle soups and some cold dishes. Not sure what the one star reviews from a year ago but the beef noodle soup I got was very flavorful, just need to have thick cut meat instead of thin slices. The Sichuan beef noodle soup is very spicy and also flavorful. One of the best I've had in the city. The deep fried chicken also reminded me of the ones in the Taiwanese night market - I would recommend. The portion size is good value for the price as well. Seating in the shop is very limited so plan on only 2 or 3 in a party or take out. Call ahead to get takeout.
